Me Acting Daft at Work

I took part in a daft spoof on Darren Bonehill; this was four months after I’d returned to professional employment following a two-year gap after my brain injury. Stan was my nickname for Darren, who is mentioned by the other participants. After accidentally typing Sstan in an iPhone message, I discovered that it auto-corrects to Satan!

On the right is Jeremy Wilson, who was the operations director of Oxford Computer Group, a respected former colleague. After participating he either:

  • Thought it was a good laugh
  • Regretted his part in the spoof

I know it was the former, so good on him.

Neil Coughlan was the CEO of OCG and a respected ex-colleague, he wrote about me in his blog. If I was to write about Neil, I’d use the pseudonym Nello (the nickname of the character Neil Baldwin), who was a part of my being a Stoke City supporter during my late teen years. The fifty second point in this YouTube clip reveals Neil Coughlan’s resemblance to Nello 🙂

In 2022 I met with Nello at the New Victoria Theatre in Newcastle-under-Lyme, for the performance of “Marvellous” – the story of his remarkable life.
